L&Q Group has over 43,000 properties and is the largest housing
association in the South East of England. The Communications Department provides internal graphic design services to the group and also handles all aspects of public relations. They wanted to revolutionise the way users obtained stock images and photographs and cut the considerable workload that telephone requests were placing on the public relations staff. L&Q's photographic archive was already well established before migrating to ImageCentral 2.0 and images were filed based on a proprietary numbering system. Once L&Q explained this system it was quickly duplicated using ImageCentrals customisable features. This meant that they would avoid having to renumber their existing catalogue, and images in ImageCentral could easily be tracked back to their printed media. Said Maggie Gebbett, Head of Communications at L&Q: "ImageCentral has transformed the way in which we provide images to our staff and suppliers. The project team made sure that our existing database and filing system were retained, so we can still keep our photographs in our filing cabinets but still find them using the new system. This was absolutely essential to the success of the project since not all of our old photos are scanned yet. Now all staff can find pictures easily, usually by putting in just one keyword". |
